TECHNOLOGY FOR SEALING JOINTS BETWEEN PRECAST REINFORCED CONCRETE RINGS WITH SPT® RESINS POLYURETHANE MATERIALS BASED ON THE RESULTS OF EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES
Abstract
Technology for sealing joints between precast reinforced concrete rings with SPT® Resins
polyurethane materials based on the results of experimental studies
Annotation. The results of research on the technology of sealing joints between precast concrete rings
using injection in the cavity of SPT® Resins polyurethane material are presented. To carry out experi
mental research, a special stand was designed and assembled with the help of which conditions close to
real ones were created. The main objective of the research was to prepare the tops of the joint cavities
before injecting the polyurethane material to prevent it from leaking out. To do this, the joint between
the rings was closed with a metal rim, and the gaps between the ring and the rim were filled with: moun
ting foam; hollow rubber seals, or polyurethane seals. In addition, one of the joints was filled by spray
ing SPT® polyurethane material into the joint with a spray gun. The tops of some joints were filled with
mounting foam at 4050 mm, or with a polyurethane seal (50 mm), followed by pressing it with the top
rim. The last technological solution was to install a compression rim at the joint, on the edge of which a
rubber hollow seal is pasted.
As a result of the research, it was found that all the technological solutions under study for sealing the
joints between precast concrete rings in the case of injection of SPT® Resins polyurethane material in
them, can achieve a good result, namely, fill the cavities by 9599 %. An exception is the technological
solution in which the joint was filled with a spray gun filled with SPT® Resins polyurethane material,
while the cavity was filled by a little more than 50 %, which is not acceptable.
